Registration of Death
We register the deaths of Sri Lankan citizens/dual citizens, under the regulations of the Sri Lanka Consular Functions Act No: 04 of 1981 in case of a death of a Sri Lankan passport holder/ dual citizenship holder in Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, Finland. Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania or Norway.
The informant of the death should be: Father/Mother/Spouse/Child/Sibling.
Please note that the Certificate of Death is issued upon receipt of the approval of the Department of Registration.:
The required documents for the registration of a Death
- Form for registration of a death occurred within 3 months Form B 11 OR Form for registration of a death occurred after 3 months Form B 15
- Birth Certificate of the Deceased
- Current Passport of the Deceased
- Original Marriage Certificate of the deceased (if married)
- Dual Citizenship and Naturalisation Certificates (for Dual citizens only)
- Proof of the informant’s relationship (Ex – marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc.)
- Informant’s valid Passport
- Death certificate issued by the respective authority in the country of residence (with English translation) including the cause of death. In case cause of death is not available in the death certificate, a document verifying cause of death, issued by the health authority should be presented.

Issuance of death certificate SEK 231
Postage within Sweden – SEK 140 (single service fee)
Postage outside of Sweden – SEK 180 (single service fee)
Bank fee: (If paid to the Embassy Bank account)
Bank fee (cross border transfer) – SEK 50
